Hakim Din & Sons was founded by Mr. Hakam Din, a skilled artisan who crafted musical instruments in Sialkot, a small city on the Indian subcontinent. Established in 1910, the Hakim Din Group has a rich history that dates back to the 1890s when the Royal Indian Army requested Highland Bagpipes from Mr. Hakim Din. He was commended for his work by the Director of Music, Captain A. Eldon of the Baroda State Army.
In 2015, Hakim Din’s Great Grand Son, Azhar Ilyas Mirza, established Highland Gear, which continues the family’s legacy of producing high-quality craftsmanship. Highland Gear is dedicated to preserving and promoting Scottish culture and traditions through the production of kilts and accessories that blend tradition with modernity.
